Terry Pratchett's Discworld coloring book

One of the best things about coloring books is that each one has something different inside. Nature, animals, flowers, patterns, people, stories - pick what you want and color them in.

You can also get coloring books of your favorite TV show, movie, book or even video game. So I was really happy to find that Terry Pratchett's Discworld coloring book was a real thing. It is my absolute favorite series and the designs are drawn by Paul Kidby (original artist) himself.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld by Paul Kidby

Terry Pratchett's Discworld coloring book contains the original artwork by Paul Kidby for the Discworld series, adapted as line illustrations for us to color. All the iconic and favorite characters make an appearance somewhere between the covers - from Rincewind, DEATH, the Librarian, Granny to Vimes.
There are some double page spreads and some patterns/wallpaper types images as well. The publishers have even included a few full-color pictures at the end, in case you feel like replicating the original art.

As any fan of the Discworld series knows, Pterry's world is brought to life by Kidby's art. Each page is filled with iconic images that we could never forget. I could go on and on about the pictures but I'd run out of space. Most of the book is filled with beautiful scenes on the right with appropriate quotes or pattern type images on the left. I actually love this format for 2 reasons:
  • It gives a nice break from doing full-page scenes with more relaxing designs
  • You don't have to worry about bleed through or shadows

Paper Quality & Suitable Mediums

  • Colored pencils are great, esp Polychromos
  • Pitt pens are awesome too
  • Watercolor is ok, not great
  • Try markers since most are single-sided pages

Terry Pratchett's Discworld is less than $10 and is an amazing value. It's a lot of fun for the Discworld fan. Even if you've never heard of the Discworld, the designs here are absolutely gorgeous. It'll certainly make you want to explore the books. And if you already are a fan, then what are you waiting for? Get yourself a copy, color the pages and bring the Disc and their characters to life!
